I'll overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making huge earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
